Why give out ordinary business cards and wedding invitations when you can impress people with cards that showcase your circuitry skills?
Electrical engineer Jay Kickliter thought of creating an interactive business card for an upcoming job fair. His card lights up whenever it’s touched and has a low-power mode that prolongs battery life. Design and implementation took two weeks. Pretty cool and attention grabbing.
Jay is sharing the card’s source code, design files, and schematics over at his Web site.
Meanwhile, as part of Bill Porter and his fiancee Mara’s ultimate geek wedding, they made circuit board wedding invitations that light up and blink a Morse code message.
For the tutorial, check out Bill’s blog. Their wedding preparations and actual ceremony incorporate electronics.
